I stole this from a song. Natasha Bedingfield. She probably didn't write it with a child in mind, but that's how I take it.
When I hear this song, I think of my daughter. I think of how much she has in front of her. She has the ability to do anything. It terrifies me. Her whole life is in front of her.
She is, in essence, a blank page. It's up to me to bind the book the page is in, help write the first few chapters - the rest is up to her. I have to make sure those chapters are filled with knowledge, wisdom, humor, fun, kindness, and love. So she has the ability to fill the rest with the same. That is a huge responsibility. There is no eraser, no delete key.
We are responsible for shaping a human being. To do our best to make her happy, kind, and an all around good person.
Nothing else I do in life will have the impact that this does. Nothing else will be as important.

I know how you feel. It is so hard having such little adult interaction. It really helped me having a couple of play groups a week where I could at least have a couple of conversations with other mothers. The funny thing is that you still talk about your baby and the color their poop that day! It will be much easier when it gets a little cooler!
