We are "going green" in baby steps.
I do feel it's really important to do what you can to help the environment. The smallest things can make a huge difference!
Some ideas:
Reusable grocery bags - this does cost a bit of money, but it's well worth it in the long run. We buy two bags each time we go grocery shopping. They cost $0.99 each, so not too bad at all! And, it's really amazing how much you can fit in there!
Recycle! Sounds simple, but so many people don't!!!
Cloth Diaper! I'm guilty of NOT doing this (said shamefully) - but we are planning on doing it with our next little one. Diapers take soooo long to break down and they take up quite a big of space in our landfills. Initially, it can get expensive, but you end up saving a ton of money in the long run. Imagine not having to buy diapers every time you head to the store! Here's where I shamelessly plug a cd making mama friend of mine! Her store is here, and she's awesome!
Energy Saving light bulbs - they last forever and are so much better than regular bulbs!
With anything you want to do your research. There are lots of companies claiming to be greener, but make sure and check them out before supporting them/buying their product.

I don't know if I'm organized enough to cloth diaper, you're brave for wanting to try!! The reuseable shopping bags are great, we use them everywhere. All of our recycling money goes into the little guy's piggy bank!!
I'd really like to start composting in an area of my garden, but I need to figure out how to start.

One of my new years resolutions was to be a more green. We also have reusable grocery bags and are using cloth napkins and cloth towels instead of paper. We have started using the Method products and I love them.
You know that we cloth diaper and LOVE it. Susan has superb diapers. And once you start and it is routine, it really is not a big deal.

BRAVO! We to are going green with baby steps ... my thirteen, ten and seven year old keep us in check! we are also going organic and local, also in baby steps!
